Here is a list of cultural etiquettes for all visitors and tourists. By following this list you will make your visit to Sapa more comfortable and enjoyable for the villagers and yourself. Thank you.
Please avoid wearing a white and all white clothes into the village because white is often worn at funerals.
Avoid wearing revealing clothing.
Please do not show public displays of affection in the village.
Please do not ask about buying religious or antique items from anyone.
Please do not enter a home that has a bunch of green leaves hanging from the entrance.
Please when entering a home take your back pack off of your shoulders and carry it with your hands.
If you are staying over night, please be respectful of the villagers as they go to bed early.
Please avoid touching the heads of the infants.
Please do not take a photo of anyone without kindly asking first. And never take a photo of the infants.
If you promise to do something, please keep your promise.
